KATE MACPHAIL - Director of Development
Kate MacPhail began working with Sepia Films as part of the CFTPA National Production Program. She now acts as Director of Development, working on all facets of Sepia’s diverse range of slate projects, as well as continuously seeking out new material. Kate also plays a hand in corporate development, collaborating with the company’s principals to advance Sepia’s profile in Canada and abroad.
Kate’s background is in advertising and marketing- skills that come in handy when working on in-house publicity. She has worked with Sepia’s partners, tailoring PR materials and spearheading publicity initiatives for individual films and audiences.
Since joining Sepia Films in 2007, Kate has associate produced the music documentary, And The Beat Goes On…Ibiza and was the Canadian production coordinator on the Irish-Canadian co-production, A Shine Of Rainbows (2009). She has also coordinated such short films as the Leo Award winning, Valentines (2007). Kate got her start in the film industry as an extras wrangler on Force Four’s You, Me & The Kids.
Kate’s favorite animal is the cat.
