Eight years ago Greene faked his death. He is the real Franklin Bishop. Greene proceeds to unravel Bishop's life, forcing him to commit crimes, while simultaneously gaining his wife's confidence. He pits husband and wife against each other – both completely unaware of the other's predicament.
