Logline: Based on the short story by Rick Moody, THE JAMES DEAN GARAGE BAND is a fictional account of the day the legendary screen idol died in a car crash on a California Highway, his departure to the afterlife and his ten day rock and roll journey in between

Synopsis: What if you were supposed to die in a head-on car crash, but by some miracle walked away from it? And what if you were the soon-to-be cinema legend, James Dean? Pulling himself free from the deadly wreck that cut short his life on September 30, 1955, the young actor wanders down the highway towards the town of Lost Hills, California where he's taken in by two teenage boys, Wallace and Cole Owens, and their widowed mother, Alice. The boys don't know who Dean is, but they're enthralled by the raw new sound of rock 'n roll and think he could be the drummer they've been looking for to complete their fledgling combo. As Dean discovers from the town's enigmatic car mechanic, Pete Angelo that he's been given only a 10-day reprieve to sort out his life, the band he forms with the Owens brothers in their rickety old garage becomes his sole means of redemption. Set in the early days of rock 'n roll, Dean's quest plays out to the soundtrack of some of the greatest music ever made.
